Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the management of the School Operational Assistance (Dana BOS) in supporting educational programs in schools located in suburban areas. The management of Dana BOS plays a strategic role in improving the quality of education, but it often faces challenges related to resource limitations, managerial issues, and transparency. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis at several schools in suburban areas in Indonesia. The results of the study indicate that although Dana BOS has successfully improved facilities and teaching quality, its management is still hindered by the limited understanding of school principals and teachers in budget planning, as well as the lack of community involvement in the monitoring process. Transparency and accountability in managing Dana BOS need to be improved through more intensive training and increased participation from school committees and the community. Despite the significant challenges related to infrastructure and human resources in suburban areas, the findings show that with better management and closer collaboration between schools, the government, and the community, Dana BOS can be optimized to effectively support educational programs. The recommendations of this study include improving training for school principals and teachers in budget management and strengthening transparency and accountability in the use of Dana BOS
